1. Overview
EV Charge Tracker is an offline-first Android application for recording electric-vehicle charging sessions, vehicles, charging stations, energy usage, and charging costs. The app does not require an account.
2. Information we handle
The app handles information that you choose to enter or generate while using its features. This can include:
- Vehicle details that you enter, such as a vehicle name, make, model, battery capacity, and efficiency.
- Charging-session details, such as date, energy added, duration, cost, currency, tariff period, and notes.
- Charging-station details that you save, such as station name, provider, address, connector information, and favorite status.
- App preferences, such as units, currency, tariff rates, reminders, and notification settings.
EV Charge Tracker is designed not to request vehicle identification data such as a VIN, registration number, or license plate. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into free-text notes.
Information we do not intentionally collect
- We do not require your name, email address, phone number, or an account to use the core app.
- We do not use the device GPS to continuously track your location.
- We do not operate a server that receives your local charging history as part of the core offline features.
3. Storage, export, and backup
Your vehicle, station, charging-session, and preference records are stored locally on your Android device using the app's local database and settings storage.
- CSV export: If you choose to export your records, Android shares the generated CSV file with the app or service you select, such as a spreadsheet or file-sharing app. That recipient's privacy policy then applies.
- Android backup: If Android backup is enabled on your device, Android may include app data in its backup according to your device and Google account backup settings. EV Charge Tracker does not control Android's backup service.
- Deletion: The “Delete all data” action in Settings removes the vehicles, stations, and charging sessions stored by the app on that device. Copies that you exported or backed up may remain outside the app.
4. Advertising and Google AdMob
The app may display advertising provided by Google AdMob. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, approximate region, ad interaction information, diagnostics, and other information permitted by applicable law and your device or consent settings to provide, measure, and improve advertising.
Advertising choices may depend on your Android privacy settings, Google account settings, the consent choices shown by the app, and Google's own policies. AdMob is a third-party service; its processing is governed by Google's policies and terms.
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and information about how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
6. Permissions and system services
The Android build uses network access for advertising and related service connectivity. Notification access may be used for charging reminders and monthly-report reminders if you enable them. The app does not request GPS location permissions or background-location access.
| Capability | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet / network state | Advertising and connectivity for supported third-party services. Core records remain local-first. |
| Notifications | Optional reminders and monthly report notifications, when enabled by you. |
| Location | Not requested or used by EV Charge Tracker. |
7. Your choices
You can control your information and app experience by:
- Choosing whether to enable charging reminders and monthly reports.
- Choosing whether to export your data and which app receives the exported file.
- Editing or deleting individual records where the app provides that action.
- Using Settings → Delete all data to remove local app records.
- Managing notification, backup, and advertising privacy settings through Android and Google settings.
8. Children's privacy
EV Charge Tracker is not directed to children under the age required by the laws where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an EV Charge Tracker account, because the app does not require an account. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service used by the app, please contact that service provider directly.
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features, advertising services, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a new version is published. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests relating to EV Charge Tracker, use the support contact published on the app's official store listing or send to email: sam@bluefirelab.com. Please do not include passwords, payment details, advertising identifiers, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a support request.
